A WOMAN who was found guilty of animal cruelty in Bromsgrove is appealing against her conviction.

Annette Nally, of Pryor Road, Oldbury, was jailed for six months after neglecting and causing unnecessary suffering to horses in her care.

In September last year, Redditch Magistrates Court heard how RSPCA inspectors found one dead horse and a further 12 horses emaciated at her stables in Stoke Prior.

Several of the emaciated horses were later put down due to poor health.

Nally, aged 50, was well-known for taking in rescue horses.

In court, witness Carolle Lee-Jones, who was at the stables when the horses were first found, said she had ‘never seen anything like it before in her life’.

Nally’s appeal will be heard at Hereford Crown Court on March 20.
