Woman's appeal to find two sentimental watches lost in Redditch

A WOMAN has issued a plea to the public to help her find two very precious watches she has recently lost.

Jean Collins, 63, who is from Alvechurch, believes she lost her two watches whilst on a shopping trip to Dunelm in Redditch on July 1 after taking them to have their batteries replaced.

She thinks she put the watches in the middle of the back seat of the car before going to Dunelm – they were in a small plastic bag that was sealed at the top.

Her watches were of great sentimental value to her because one was her late daughter’s who died in 2008 and the other was a 50th birthday gift from a friend.

She only realised the watches had gone later that afternoon after she had driven back to Alvechurch.

Jean said she thinks the precious timepieces were lost in almost the same place as her daughter was tragically killed after falling off her bike and being hit by a vehicle.

The watches were a Lorus silver chain watch with a blue face and a Next watch with a black strap and a brown rectangular face.

Jean said: “I’m really sad to lose them, especially my daughter’s.

“When she died, I had some links put in to wear it.

“Both watches are very precious to me.

“I’m worried someone’s just found them and taken them but I hope if they have been found then the person will return them.”

Anyone who finds Jean’s watches can e-mail her at: [email protected] to get in touch with her.
