THE grand unveiling of Woodfield Academy’s long-awaited 3G astroturf football pitch took place at the school on July 18.
Plans to build the surface were given the go-ahead in October last year.
At the time a spokesperson for the school said: “After so much work to make it happen, and many hurdles overcome, we are finally going to build a full-size astroturf on a section of our school fields.
“It will be a huge asset to the academy and the community and we will be the only school in Redditch with such a facility.”
On the day current students and teachers gathered to see former Woodfield pupil Reece Daly, open up the new pitch.
