COMMUNITY sports teams across Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Rubery could be in with the chance of obtaining kit sponsorship from Anglian Home Improvements.
The company’s Support for Sport 2018 drive is offering 20 kit sponsorships worth £300.
The scheme is backed by England and Great Britain defender Sam Quek MBE who has won gold in both the Olympics and European championships.
Sam said: “Sport plays a huge part in my life, and I’ve always believed grassroots teams play an important role in bringing people and communities together.
“There are many different benefits of local sports teams; they not only enable budding sports stars to realise their ability, but also help people from all generations to keep fit and active.
“Being part of a sports team can help develop a strong sense of belonging, and it ultimately encourages positive health and wellbeing.
“I am really looking forward to looking through all the Anglian Support for Sport entries, and to finding out more about the different teams across the country who are passionate about their sport, their club and their local community.”
Rachael Munby, Anglian Home Improvements’ marketing director, said: “From kicking their first ball in the park to picking up a hockey stick for the first time in the school sports hall, playing cricket on the village green or badminton in the back garden, all our sporting greats have to start somewhere, and a passion for sport usually has its roots right at the heart of our local communities.
“At Anglian, we want to show our support for the many clubs that are encouraging participation in sport in communities up and down the country, most of which are run by teams of very hardworking and dedicated volunteers.
“We also want to help inspire all those who play sport on a local level, and are enjoying all the benefits this can bring.”
She added the company was delighted to have Sam Quek on board.
The deadline for entries is 11.59pm on Sunday, July 2018.
