Work on new roundabout and crossing in Redditch is delayed

Redditch Editorial 29th Mar, 2024 Updated: 29th Mar, 2024   0

THE DATE for work to start on a mini-roundabout and crossing in Redditch has changed.

The installation of a new mini-roundabout and zebra crossing at the Batchley Road / Hewell Road junction will now start in the week beginning Monday, April 8.

The works were due to get under way this week but have had to be put back to ensure utility works can take place at the same time, causing less disruption in the area.

The new mini-roundabout will be installed adjacent to the junction of Batchley Road, and the zebra crossing will be added along the same street.

During the works, at times, there will be closures of Batchley Road between Hewell Road and Ashtree Road.

Hewell Road will have lane closures and operate under temporary traffic lights.

The existing bus stop at the junction will be removed and relocated once the works are complete.

The number 51 Diamond bus service will be diverted via Oak Tree Avenue and Salters Lane and Hewell Road.

Access to frontages will be maintained at all times and any diversions will be clearly signed.
