A SWAN left with leg injuries after being hit by a car in Batchley last week has been recovering well at Wychbold Swan Rescue.
After being chased out of Brockhill Pool by another male swan last Friday he was then hit by a car on Oak Tree Avenue.
The injured bird suffered cuts to his legs and was taken to Wychbold Swan Rescue where it was reunited with its partner.
Jan Harrigan, from the rescue centre, said: “Male swans are quite territorial during this time of the year and can be aggressive.
“The swan has been reunited with its partner who had also gone through some trouble, they are still at the centre and we will need to find them a private home.
“You could say they lived happily ever after.”
Jan said the centre had also been busy looking after ducks and could rear up to 100 in a season.
“Ducks can be very careless and sometimes lay their eggs where there is no water nearby.
“That is why you often find them crossing a busy road with their ducklings.
“We take them in and rear them, so they have a better chance.”
