THE FESTIVE spirit is returning to Batchley with this year’s Yule by the School event.
The evening, organised by Batchley Support Group, will start at 5.30pm on Friday (December 5) with a procession of carol singers accompanied by Santa and his sleigh from Batchley First School to the Christmas tree opposite the shops.
Pupils and the Salvation Army band will be singing carols from 5.45pm and at 6pm the lights will be switched on by Deputy Mayor Pattie Hill.
Trustee Maureen Muckle said: “Once again we are delighted to host this event for the families and children of Redditch. Santa has kindly agreed to visit us once again this year, as the children of Redditch made him so welcome last year.”
Admission to Santa’s grotto – which is open from 6.15pm to 7.30pm – is £1.50 per child including a gift.
