TANWORTH and Camp Hill claimed a dominant seven-wicket win against league leaders Leek Wootton to secure a fifth consecutive victory.

After putting Leek into bat, Ben Bryant (4-32) starred with the ball before TACH opener Lee Gill (51) hit a fine half-century to set the home side on their way to victory at Tanworth Lane.

The result means Tanworth sit second in the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division table, three points behind new leaders Bretforton.

Leek started brightly with the bat before Sandeep Murthy (14) wafted a shot to Joe Kelso at point as Bryant claimed his first scalp before then trapping Tim Dart (5) LBW.

Opener Barney Dillow (35) kept his side in the game before Tim Keyte (2-20) picked up two wickets in the same over as he trapped Gabriel Wild (5) LBW and then bowled Elliott Haynes-Sorrell for a four-ball duck.

Dillow eventually fell to the bowling of Oscar Newell (1-20) before Tom Smith (2-15) claimed the wickets of Matthew Edwards (19) and Jack Erskine (0), trapping the former LBW while the latter chipped the ball back to Smith for an easy caught and bowled.

Yash Sharma (39 not out) top scored for the visitors but wickets continued to fall as Kelso (1-22) trapped Mark Hadden (3) LBW before Bryant wrapped up the tail with two full deliveries to bowl both Venkat Sarma (7) and Sam Cox (0) with Leek all out for 142.

TACH made a steady start in reply before Hadden (1-26) removed James Carey (11) as fellow opener Gill pressed on and put on a 70-run stand with Newell (27) for the second wicket before he was caught and bowled by Sharma (2-7).

Shortly after reaching his half-century, Gill also fell to Sharma with TACH 113-3 as Smith (24 not out) and Bryant (6 not out) guided the home side to victory with 19.2 overs to spare.

Tanworth and Camp Hill are next in action against Shipston-on-Stour on Saturday, June 15 with the game to begin at 12.30pm at Shipston Sports Club.
