ALEX Cameron has become the latest player to commit his future to Redditch United for the 2024/25 season.
The 23-year-old striker scored 15 goals in the league last season after helping Rushall Olympic achieve promotion from the Southern League Premier Central the previous year.
Cameron, now in his third spell with the club, believes anything is possible next season following the club’s play-off finish last term.
Cameron said: “I’m delighted to have agreed terms for another year, this club has come on leaps and bounds since my first season and it’s been a pleasure to be a part of.
“Last season was special to me as I believe it’s been my best season personally and definitely the most enjoyable season I’ve had in adult football – the group of players in that dressing room were like my second family and it showed on the pitch.
“The fight, the trust in each other, the togetherness really carried us through some tough games and the success of last season reaching the play-offs just showed how special that group was.
“Hopefully, we can replicate or even better what we did last year and push for a higher finish and maybe even win the league as we know anything is possible.”
Redditch manager, Tim Flowers, added: “We’re delighted to see Alex back at the Valley next season. He’s a proven goalscorer at this level and above, he’s a massive part of the squad given his importance around the dressing room.
“He’s got a good voice, he’s strong, solid, powerful and will certainly be a focal point of our strikeforce this season. Clearly, with JJ resigning as well, those two ended the season as a real threat together. Alex is a super bloke to have about and really committed to the dressing room, he was a huge part of the spirit the players had last season.
“Again, he was one of the ones we wanted to talk to quickly and he had options elsewhere, as did all of the boys to be honest with you, but they really wanted to give it another go at Redditch and I’m delighted for that.”
