REPORT

Starting with the Bromsgrove Charity Cup’s, in the Junior Cup Rubery Athletico beat Quinton Athletic 3-1 whilst in the Minor cup, FC Arrow Spa versus Rednal Bilbao went all the way to penalties after the game finished three-all after 90 minutes before Rednal progressed 4-2 on penalties.

There were also matches in the Worcestershire FA Sunday Premier Cup and the Minor Cup. In the Premier Cup AFC Thomas Brothers beat Worcester and District Football League’s Premier leading team Worcester Athletic 4-3 to progress to the next stage. In the other match, VKL United just couldn’t quite get over the line against Offenham Rovers from the Evesham League in a 4-2 defeat.

In the Minor Cup, South Birmingham Activ made it to the next round by beating Worcester and District League team Droitwich Spa Sounders 4-2 on penalties after their match finished 3-3 after 90 minutes. Astwood Reds comfortably booked their place in the next round after beating Oak Apple 5-1 and Redditch Town made it a clean sweep for the Redditch teams with an 8-4 triumph against Badsey Rangers.

Elsewhere, in the Terry Cup, Rubery Memorial booked a third round tie against Stoke Prior after beating Queens Head 3-0.

In the Jim Fleeman Cup, Red Star Bromsgrove hammered Catshill Rangers 9-1 with Adam Richards scoring five and will meet Rednal Bilbao in the next round.

In the Studley Cup, Abbeydale have reached the semi-finals after beating Astwood FC 3-1 and SSS Lions beat Meadow Park by the same scoreline in the other match. They will meet each other in the semi finals with a date to be arranged in due course.

In the Steven Troth quarter-finals, Frankley United held Redditch Borough LA to a 3-3 draw after 90 minutes and won 5-4 on penalties whilst Harry Nicholls scored two goals to take Hizza United to the semi finals after beating Churchfields 5-1.

In league action, Austin moved top of the Premiership after beating Arrow Valley 2-0.

In the Championship, Headless Cross put 10 past Redditch Borough in a 10-2 win thanks to a hat trick from Will Skelton and two goals each from Ade McNally, John Manison and Kingsley Smith. Beoley Village beat Redditch Borough NT 5-0 with another two goals from Neville Ekane.

In League 1, Bromsgrove Rangers have moved top of the table after beating Crusaders 6-3.

And in League 2, Lydiate Casuals have also moved top after bearing FC Redditch 4-1 whilst Bartley Reds B won just their second league game of the season, beating Stoke Prior 4-0.
