A TRIALIST scored twice as Redditch United claimed a 3-1 victory against local rivals Studley in a pre-season friendly.
The trialist scored twice in the first half to put Redditch in command before another trialist sealed the win after the break at the Valley Stadium.
Redditch took the lead on 15 minutes when Studley goalkeeper Brendon Bunn failed to claim Johnny Johnston’s pass and a trialist backheeled the loose ball into the net.
Studley almost drew level straight from the restart as Jamie Spiers fired narrowly wide after sprinting down the right.
The Reds went close to a second goal when Johnston beat a number of defenders only for Bunn to make a smart stop.
And the home side eventually doubled their lead just before the break when the trialist struck again with a fine finish into the bottom corner.
Redditch scored their third goal when a different trialist smashed home after some neat link-up play.
The Reds thought they had scored a fourth goal only for assistant to flag for offside after a trialist lobbed Bunn.
Studley reduced the deficit just past the hour mark after a goalmouth scramble ended with the ball going in off a Redditch defender.
And the Bees spurned two late chances as Redditch held on to claim another pre-season victory.
