FOOTBALL - Inkberrow hosts Let Girls Play event

INKBERROW Football Club finally hosted the Football Association’s (FA’s) Let Girls Play event in conjunction with the Girls Football Partnership.

The event was originally scheduled to take place in March as part of a national scheme only for snowy weather to force organisers to cancel at the last minute.

However, after months of waiting, 150 girls from a number of Redditch and other local schools took part in small sided games, skills sessions and Soccercise.

The event aims to give girls the opportunity to become involved with football whether through the school curriculum, at breaktime, after school or at local clubs with no barriers and no stereotypes.

Inkberrow have had a dedicated female section for 11 years and counting and the club fully supports the growth of the women’s game.

The club also runs an FA Wildcats Centre for girls aged five to 11 years-old.
