The ceremony took place at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane home.

And Church won the Community Club of the year award for the 2025/26 season based on the impact generated by the club in their local area.

Some of the club’s projects included walking football, walking football for Parkinson’s, a mental health team, disability team, growth in the female game, school coaching and Nathan Redmond holiday camps.

Church also run a number of regular programmes including youth and junior football camps and football education courses.

A club spokesperson said: “To be recognised in this way amongst our peers and alongside some huge football clubs, is testament to the hard work carried out daily by good people at our club.

“Thanks go out particularly to Mark Fogarty and Kevin Redmond who head up the Alvechurch Foundation and who do this work, not for any recognition but for a genuine compassion and caring about people in our community.

“Well done to all involved and thank you. We are extremely proud.”
