MAX-Emilios Angelides scored a second-half stunner as Sporting Club Inkberrow battled to an impressive 2-1 win at FC Bristol to leapfrog their opponents in the table.

Angelides’s sublime half-volley sealed a narrow victory for Inkberrow after Tom Emblem opened the scoring with Kinsly Murray on target for Bristol at Oaklands Park.

And the result means Inkberrow now sit third in the Hellenic League Division One table, five points behind leaders Clanfield 85 with a game in-hand.

The visitors took the lead after just nine minutes as Emblem cut in from the right and curled a superb effort into the top-left corner of the goal from 20-yards out.

However, Bristol equalised six minutes later as Murray bundled the ball home at the back post from a corner.

Chances were at a premium in the second half before Angelides struck a magnificent half-volley into the Bristol net from 30-yards out on the hour mark to win the game for the visitors.

Inkberrow are next in action away at Slimbridge on Tuesday, October 24 in the Wiseman Floodlit Cup with kick-off at 7.45pm at Thornhill Park.
