REDDITCH RFC suffered a fourth consecutive defeat in the league after losing 34-17 at home to Keresley.

The Kingfishers took an early lead through Matt Allen’s try before Joe Morgan touched down in the second half at Bromsgrove Road.

And the result means Redditch sit eighth in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table.

The visitors made the perfect start when Allen dotted down the game’s first try with Will Heath converting following dominant play from Redditch’s forward line.

However, Keresley responded with a try of their own after the Kingfishers dropped the ball on halfway and the visitors quickly moved the ball through the hands to score.

An Archie Beddard penalty sent Redditch into the break with a narrow three-point lead with the Kingfishers intent on snapping their losing run.

Keresley scored their second try after the interval only for Morgan to touch down on debut for Redditch after a great run and offload from Tom Lipscomb with Beddard converting.

However, the visitors ran away with the game in the final quarter, running in four tries without reply to extend the Kingfishers winless run.

Redditch are next in action away at Droitwich II on Saturday, December 2 with kick-off at 2.15pm Hanbury Road.
