REDDITCH United finished their pre-season campaign unbeaten following a 4-1 win against Swindon Supermarine, writes Jack Underwood.
Alex Cameron scored twice with further goals from Calum Flanagan and a trialist as the Reds eased to victory at the Valley Stadium.
The Reds went close to an opener when Jordan Cranston’s deflected effort hit the crossbar before bouncing to safety.
From the resulting corner, Flanagan nodded the ball into an empty net to put Redditch in front after Swindon blocked an initial effort on the line.
The home side doubled their lead soon after when Jaiden White played a one-two with a trialist before he cut inside and played Cameron in behind who slotted a shot through the goalkeeper’s legs.
Redditch continued to pile on the pressure as both Musa Ceesay and Will Harris went close with headers.
The Reds eventually extended their lead just before half time when Cameron tapped home Cranston’s whipped cross.
Swindon reduced the deficit after the break as Harry Williams beat Adam Harrison in the Redditch net after the Reds failed to deal with a corner.
However, the Reds restored their three-goal lead when a trialisit ran down the left-hand side of the penalty area before firing a low shot across goal and into the bottom right corner.
The home side finished the game with 10-men after Cameron was forced off with a knock late on as the Reds comfortably saw out the remaining minutes to finish pre-season unbeaten
Redditch begin their league campaign with a trip to Lowestoft Town on Saturday, August 10 with kick-off at 3pm at the Crown Meadow.
