ALCESTER RFC maintained their perfect start to the season with a 29-12 victory away at previously unbeaten Leamington.
Tries from Mark Burrell, Dwayne Cruickshank, Jack Green and Owen Binns secured a bonus point victory for the visitors at Moorefields.
The visitors took an early lead when Burrell crossed under the posts and Ed Gough kicked the conversion.
And Alcester struck again as Cruickshank took advantage of an overlap to dot down with Gough adding the extras.
Leamington reduced the deficit with a try before half time only for Green to extend Alcester’s lead with a try after the interval.
A yellow card saw the home side temporarily reduced to 14-men as Gough kicked a penalty to further increase Alcester’s lead.
And birthday boy Binns scored Alcester’s bonus point try to take the game out of Leamington’s reach.
The home side scored a consolation try with Alcester down to 13-men while Leamington had a player sent off for a second yellow card late on.
Alcester are next in action against Old Coventrians on Saturday, September 28 with kick-off at 3pm at Kings Coughton.
