REDDITCH United lost 2-1 against Leiston to slip to a fourth successive home defeat in the Southern League Premier Central.
A brace from Jamar Loza condemned the Reds to defeat at the Valley Stadium after Reuben Wyatt drew the home side level before the break.
The result means Redditch sit eighth in the Southern League Premier Central table, two points outside of the play-off places.
Tim Flowers’ side almost broke the deadlock when Kyle Rowley headed a free-kick towards the back post only for Jordan Cranston’s close-range effort to come back off the crossbar and bounce the wrong side of the line.
Reds midfielder Billy Shaw then fired a shot into the side netting from a tight angle before Alex Cameron poked a harmless effort goalwards soon after.
The home side felt they could have had a penalty when Jaiden White went to ground in the box under a challenge from a Leiston player only for the referee to wave away Redditch’s appeals.
However, Leiston took the lead on 35 minutes as Loza powered a shot into the roof of the net at the back post after Reds goalkeeper Callum Smith failed to claim the ball at a corner.
United equalised five minutes later when Wyatt placed a first time shot into the left corner of the goal from 20-yards out from George Atwal’s lay-off.
The visitors reclaimed the lead on 70 minutes as Loza finished Ben Fowkes’ cutback from the right at the near post from six-yards out.
The Reds searched for a leveller as Shaw shot wide from distance before William Johnson parried White’s tame effort from the edge of the penalty area.
Redditch are next in action against AFC Telford United on Monday, October 21 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Valley.
