ALVECHURCH have sacked manager James Fry with the club just one point above the relegation zone.
Church sit 18th in the Southern League Premier Central table and suffered a fourth straight defeat at Leiston in midweek.
Alvechurch have lost six of their last seven league matches and last tasted victory in the league in mid-September.
A club statement reads: “Alvechurch F.C. have parted company with Jimmy Fry and invite candidates for the job of new manager.
“We have made the difficult decision to part company with first team manager Jimmy Fry.
“We would like to thank Jimmy for all his hard work and particularly for coming in last season to steady the ship and help secure our status as a Step 3 club with an unbeaten 11-game run at the turn of the year.
“His team has been ravaged by injuries to key players at a crucial time but football is a results based business and only gaining one point from a possible 21 points leaving us bottom of the form table and in touching distance of the relegation zone meant that the club felt swift action needed to be taken.
“Jimmy’s backroom staff will take over proceedings until a new manager is appointed and to this end, we welcome applications from suitable candidates for the vacant position.
“If you feel you have the right qualifications and experience and can work with our daytime programme please email our sporting director, Mark Fogarty at: [email protected]“
Fry took on the role at Lye Meadow in September 2023 and guided the club to safety last season.
He also won the Worcestershire Senior Cup following a penalty shootout victory against Evesham United in the final.
