C AND G SHOW secured their first win of the season in the Redditch Skittles League to climb off the bottom of the table.

Victory for C and G Show saw them rise above opponents the Borough who drop to the foot of the table.

The victors took a slender two-pin lead after the first leg and increased their advantage to 12 pins at the end of leg two.

The Borough fought back to win leg three only to fall further behind in the following leg.

And despite recovering slightly in leg five, C and G Show comfortable knocked over the 43 pins required for victory.

For C and G Show, Aaron Evans (41, 14 stack), Angela Guest (37, 13 stack) and Dave Orton (35) top scored while Michelle Court, Kim Workman, Rhiannon Watson and Julian Workman (all 31) impressed for The Borough.

League leaders Bernie’s Bolts suffered their first defeat of the season against Engineers.

Bolts trailed by just four pins after the third leg only for Engineers to take command of the tie after scoring 71 pins in leg four.

And Engineers easily scored the 38 pins required for victory in the final leg after Bolts could only manager another low score.

For Engineers, Brandon Kelso (42, 12 stack), Ian Greenway 36 and Luke Saunders and Josh Kelso (both 35) top scored while Paul Blayney and Lewis McSweeney (both 35) and Dean Lowe (34) starred for Bolts.

The fourth leg also proved crucial in the game between Nomads and Jumbo Jet Set.

Jumbo Jets led by seven pins after the third leg only for a poor fourth leg score from Nomads to allow the former side to take a decisive 23-pin advantage.

Nomads needed a near impossible 90 pins in the final leg and ultimately fell short of victory.

For Jumbo Jets, Mick Stanton (38) and Steve Wardle and Rob Quartly (both 37) top scored while Eddie Upright (38), Andrew Coombes (36, 12 stack) and Alan Cummings (36) impressed for Nomads.
