REDDITCH RFC ended their six-game losing run with a 27-21 victory against high-flying Kidderminster Carolians II.
A superb hat-trick from Stu Brookes and further tries from James Mills and Clarke Parker sealed a bonus point win at Bromsgrove Road.
The result means the Kingfishers sit ninth in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table.
Redditch scored the game’s first try when Brookes benefitted from a driving maul following a penalty to dot down.
And the Redditch pack showed their strength again to push Kidderminster back 20 metres which gave Mills the platform to dive over a pile of bodies to score as Will Spires converted.
The tries sparked Kidderminster into life as the visitors scored two converted tries to turn the game on its head.
However, Redditch forced the Kidderminster full-back into errors and moved the ball along the line to Parker who scored out wide to put the Kingfishers into a three-point lead at the break.
The Kingfishers struck again in the second half as Brookes rounded off a superb team move to extend the home side’s lead.
Kidderminster responded to score their third converted try virtually from the restart to cut the deficit to a single point.
A try-saving tackle from Rory Allen kept Redditch in front before Brookes rounded off the scoring with his hat-trick try.
Redditch are next in action against Five Ways Old Edwardians on Saturday, December 7 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Ash Lane.
