SPORTING Club Inkberrow produced late heroics to beat Mangotsfield United 2-0 in a top-of-the-table clash.
Late goals from Jay Higgins-Pugsley and Louis Crook secured an impressive victory for Sporting at Cossham Street.
Inkberrow then drew 1-1 away at Roman Glass St George in their first game after Christmas with Higgins-Pugsley again on target.
And the results mean Sporting sit fourth in the Hellenic League Premier Division table.
The visitors broke the deadlock on 88 minutes when Higgins-Pugsley scored from the penalty spot following a fine run from Jack Tolley.
And Inkberrow sealed the points in injury time when the Mangotsfield goalkeeper could only parry Harry Grant’s initial shot and follow-up header into the path of Crook who finished from close range.
Sporting Club Inkberrow are next in action against Royal Wootton Bassett Town on Saturday, January 4 with kick-off at 3pm at Sands Road.
