SPORTING Club Inkberrow failed to take advantage of two red cards in a frustrating 1-1 draw against nine-man Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

The visitors took the lead courtesy of Bradley Pagliaroli’s first-half goal only for Adam Corcoran and Kyle Tooze to both see red for the away side before the break at Sands Road.

And Inkberrow eventually made the extra men count as Jay Higgins-Pugsley levelled the game on 78 minutes although the home side were unable to find a winner.

The result means Sporting sit fourth in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, four points clear of the chasing pack in the race for a play-off place.

Royal Wootton Bassett broke the deadlock on 25 minutes as Inkberrow goalkeeper Gabriel Bajrami fumbled Pagliaroli’s shot from the edge of the penalty area into the net.

However, the visitors lost Corcoran to a red card after he picked up two booking before Tooze saw red for kicking out at an Inkberrow player.

That meant Royal Wootton Bassett had to play the entirety of the second half with nine-men.

The home side spurned a number of chances to equalise before Higgins-Pugsley finished from the edge of the box 12 minutes from time.

Despite creating further chances in the remaining minutes, Sporting could not make their two-man advantage count and had to settle for a point.

Sporting Club Inkberrow are next in action against Worcester Raiders on Tuesday, January 7 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Sixways Stadium.
