SPORTING Club Inkberrow need just one point from their final four matches to secure a play-off spot following a 2-1 win at Fairford Town.
An injury-time penalty from Jay Higgins-Pugsley earned Sporting the points at Cinder Lane after Jack Tolley opened the scoring before the break.
And the result means Inkberrow sit third in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, four points behind leaders Hartpury University who have three games in hand.
The visitors broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when Tolley pounced on a mix-up between the Fairford goalkeeper and a defender to open the scoring.
Fairford needed a win to keep their outside chances of a play-off spot alive and drew level on 82 minutes as Jamal Lawrence poked the ball home.
However, Inkberrow snatched the points at the death when Higgins-Pugsley drew a foul in the box and picked himself up to score the resulting penalty.
Sporting Club Inkberrow are next in action against Thornbury Town on Saturday, March 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Sands Road.
