REDDITCH boxer Jay Van-Gelder will launch his professional career in the sport at the end of the month.
The 21-year-old is a two-time national champion in the amateur ranks and is now stepping into the pro ranks.
The Redditch featherweight will make his professional debut at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on May 31.
Van-Gelder started boxing at the age of nine years-old for Studio Boxing Club and later Manning’s Gym.
He won two amateur titles, earning a reputation for his sharp technique and relentless work ethic.
Van-Gelder has since gained valuable experience sparring with top-level professional fighters.
Outside of the ring, he works as a personal trainer at Athena Performance in Redditch.
