REDDITCH’S Lloyd Glasspool has reached the men’s doubles final at Wimbledon as he bids to win a first major title.

Glasspool and British partner Julian Cash beat fourth seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in straight sets to reach the final at SW19.

The British pair, seeded fifth, secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory and have dropped just one set en route to reaching the final.

The duo knocked out defending Wimbledon men’s doubles champions Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara in the quarter-finals.

And the pair will now play unseeded duo David Pel and Rinky Hijikata in the final.

The men’s doubles final takes place on Saturday, July 12. The game will be played immediately before the ladies’ singles final.

Glasspool and Cash also became the first-ever all-British pair to win the men’s doubles title at Queens in the open era prior to taking part in Wimbledon.

And the pair enjoyed further success before Wimbledon after they also triumphed at Eastbourne.

Redditch-born Glasspool will now play in his first Wimbledon final with the 31-year-old chasing a maiden major title.
