REDDITCH United have completed the signing of experienced midfielder Matty Warburton ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 33-year-old previously played in League One and League Two with Northampton Town.
He has spent the last four seasons in the National League with Solihull Moors and Halifax Town respectively and ended last term in the National League North with King’s Lynn Town.
Reds boss, Mike Fowler said: “I am delighted, this is a real coup for me as a manager and us as a football club.
“Matt has shown a real desire to work with me and play for Redditch United and that means alot to me.
“I have worked closely with him before and I’m really excited to have a player of his calibre on board.
“Not only is he a fantastic player but he is also an incredible human being.
“His experience and quality will no doubt improve us significantly adding to an already strong squad for the season ahead.”
Warburton hit double figures for goals in each of his four seasons in the National League North for Curzon Ashton and Stockport County respectively.
He joined then League Two side Northampton Town in May 2019 as he made the jump to the Football League.
The attacking midfielder scored one goal in 18 appearances as the Cobblers achieved promotion to League One via the play-offs.
He scored once in four games for Northampton the following campaign and spent the rest of the campaign on loan at Yeovil Town.
Warburton later joined Halifax Town in August 2021 and scored 13 goals in his first season with the club in the National League.
He won the FA Trophy with Halifax at Wembley in 2022/23 as he came off the bench in the final.
Warburton joined Solihull Moors in May 2023 and helped the club reach the Promotion Final and FA Trophy finals at Wembley only to lose matches on penalties.
