REDDITCH RFC remain without a win at home this season after suffering a heavy 69-15 defeat against Kings Norton.

Tries from Joe Looker, Mickey Adams and Jack Mertens proved in vain as youthful Kings Norton side ran riot at Bromsgrove Road.

The result means the Kingfishers sit seventh in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table.

Redditch made the worst possible start as Kings Norton collected the ball from kick-off and ran down the other end to score without the Kingfishers touching the ball.

The home side drew level courtesy of Looker’s try only for Kings Norton to respond with two quickfire tries of their own.

Redditch stemmed the tide and scored their second try when Adams barged over to reduce the deficit.

However, Kings Norton scored two further counter attacking tries before the break to take a commanding half time lead.

And the visitors produced a ruthless second half performance to run in six tries while Mertens scored a third try for Redditch out wide.

Despite a late onslaught from the Kingfishers, Redditch could not score a bonus point try.

Redditch are next in action against Old Halesonians II on Saturday, October 11 with kick-off at 3pm at Wassell Grove Lane.
