ENGINEERS remain top of the Redditch Skittles League table following victory against Jumbo Jets.
The league leaders won the first two legs with 70-plus scores to lead by 35 pins only to lose the third leg by just three pins.
And the Jets claimed another point in leg four before Engineers recovered to take the final leg with another 70-plus score.
For Engineers, Luke Saunders (44, 12 stack), Craig Sears (38, 13 stack) and Brandon Kelso (36) top scored.
And Rob Quartly (39), Mike Smeed (32) and Dan Hill and Liz Rowberry (both 31) impressed for Jumbo Jets.
Lodge Farmers closed the gap to within half a point of the league leaders with victory against C and G Show.
The reigning champions won each of the first three legs to take a commanding 41-pin lead.
And Farmers won the fourth leg by a single point only for C and G Show to take the final leg to claim a consolation point.
For Farmers, Tim Jones (44, 13 stack), Frank Morris (39) and Ron Pemberton, Bob Morley and Glyn Morley (all 32) top scored.
And Keith Edwards (34), Dave Orton (33) and Angela Guest and Paul O’Neil (both 32) impressed for C and G Show.
Elsewhere, Nomads and the Borough played out the closest game as the former side eventually came out on top.
Nomads opened up a 17-pin lead after winning the first two legs before the Borough replied to win leg three and reduce the deficit to seven pins.
However, Nomads won leg four to lead by 19 pins although the Borough took the final leg to claim a consolation point.
For Nomads, James Marshal (43, 14 stack) and Mac Eaton and Geoff Lout (both 36) top scored.
And Michelle Court (38), Charlie Few (35) and Kim Workman (31) impressed for the Borough.
