REDDITCH RFC suffered a third straight defeat after losing 41-21 against Old Halesonians II.

The Kingfishers crossed for three tries as Joe Looker, Harry Irvine and Sid Allen all touched down at Wassell Grove Lane.

And the result means Redditch sit ninth in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table.

The visitors suffered an injury blow inside the first minute with full-back Aaron Atkinson forced from the field through injury.

And Old Halesonians utilised their heavier pack to score the game’s first try.

However, the Kingfishers responded in style as Looker chipped the ball over the Old Halesonians defence before he collected his own kick and dotted down as Elliot Williams kicked the conversion.

Further injuries forced Redditch into a reshuffle as the visitors suffered at the lineout and scrum but remained a threat from open play.

However, Old Halesonians crossed for three more tries before the interval to secure a bonus point and take a commanding 19-point lead into the break.

The home side lost a player to the sin-bin in the second half while more injuries led to passive scrums.

Old Halesonians extended their lead with another try before Irvine raced in from 75-metres out as he weaved around several defenders to score.

The hosts scored two further tries either side of Allen touching down for the Kingfishers as the visitors ran out of time in their quest for a bonus point.

Redditch are next in action against Stourbridge III on Saturday, October 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Bromsgrove Road.
