NOMADS moved up to second place in the Redditch Skittles League table with an impressive win against defending champions Lodge Farmers.
A modest first leg score from Lodge Farmers allowed Nomads to take an eight-pin lead at the end of the first leg.
And Nomads won leg two to extend their lead to 14 pins with the third leg halved.
Nomads won leg four by four pins to increase their lead and needed just 38 pins in the final leg.
And Nomads easily made the required total with a score of 68 pins. This proved the highest leg score of the game.
For Nomads, Alan Cummings (37), Geoff Loat (36) and Dave Maule (35) top scored.
And Sue Morris (32) and Frank Morris and Paul Cotton (both 31) produced the highest scores for Lodge Farmers.
The game between Jumbo Jet Set and C and G Show proved a much closer affair.
C and G Show took a five-pin lead after leg one which the Jets reduced to a single pin in leg two.
The trend continued in legs three and four. C and G Show took a seven-pin lead reduced again to one pin in leg four.
C and G Show scored 63 pins in the final leg to leave Jumbo Jets needing 65 pins for victory.
A 14-pin stack from Rich Johnston boosted the Jets total as they scored 68 pins to take the win.
For Jumbo Jets, Darren Summers (36), Johnston (35, 14 stack) and Dave Badsey (33) top scored.
And for C and G Show, Paul Hollis (35), Paul O’Neil (34) and Dave Orton, James Pinner, Angela Guest and Neil Jay (all 30) impressed.
