SWIMMING - Redditch Swimming Club head coach receives prestigious award

REDDITCH Swimming Club head coach Jon Fletcher has received a prestigious award from Swim England West Midlands.

The governing body awarded Fletcher with the participation and community coach of the year prize.

The club nominated Fletcher for the award for his dedication in supporting swimmers from the area in numerous different ways.

Redditch Swimming Club committee member, Rachel Power said: “We are so proud of our amazing head coach and the coaching team that works with him.

“Supporting our swimmers, being inclusive, adapting training for injuries, taking into account exam times and other outside factors, supporting our neurodivergent swimmers and always striving to learn more and help our swimmer’s keep swimming and achieving.

“Knowing the swimmers as individuals, what their goals are and what they want to achieve.




“Having open communication, a listening ear and someone who understands how hard our swimmers train.

“Also supporting the community by supporting events like the first school gala.”


A representative from Swim England West Midlands presented Fletcher with the award.

He has also earned a nomination for the national award with a ceremony to take place at the end of November at the University of Birmingham.
