ALCESTER RFC saw their momentum halted following a heavy 80-7 defeat against unbeaten league leaders Worcester.
The visitors scored their only try through prop Sam Lear while Ed Gough added the extras at Westons Fields.
Worcester led by 26 points at the interval and ran riot after the break to seal a seventh successive victory.
Alcester are next in action against Ledbury on Saturday, November 29 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Kings Coughton.
Elsewhere, the club’s second XI lost 29-7 at home against Old Saltleians II.
Alcester fell behind early on as Old Saltleians kicked a penalty while the visitors scored a converted try soon after following a series of pick and go drives.
However, the home side reduced the deficit to three points at the break when Lewis Walker dotted down and Archie Beddard converted following a powerful run from Morgan O’Dell.
Injuries took their toll on Alcester in the second half as Old Saltleians crossed for three further tries to end the game as a contest.
