MANAGERLESS Alvechurch ended their seven-game losing run in the league with a 2-0 derby win against Worcester City.

Goals from Szhem Whyte-Hall and Callum Sullivan earned Church their first win in the league since early October at Lye Meadow.

The victory also saw Alvechurch score in the league for the first time in seven matches as the club ended a more than nine-hour goal drought in the Southern League Premier Central.

And the result means Church sit 15th in the Southern League Premier Central table.

Interim boss Kyle Storer took charge of Alvechurch for the first time following the resignation of Tim Flowers after last weekend’s defeat against Banbury United.

Church broke the deadlock on 39 minutes when Whyte-Hall fired into the roof of the net from close range after Harley Price kept out the scorer’s initial effort.

And the home side doubled their lead five minutes after half time as Sullivan found the bottom right corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Alvechurch are next in action against Needham Market on Saturday, November 29 with kick-off at 3pm at Bloomfields.
