KYLE Storer believes Alvechurch’s derby win against Worcester City will act as a much-needed confidence boost for his side.

Storer tasted victory in his first game as interim Church boss as Szhem Whyte-Hall and Callum Sullivan both found the net at Lye Meadow.

The win ended a run of seven straight defeats and a more than nine-hour goal drought for Church in the league and came following the resignation of former boss Tim Flowers.

And Storer praised the work done by Flowers and insists a win was coming regardless of who was at the helm for the fixture.

Storer said: “The game around very quick. The preparation was already in the pipeline under Tim.

“We started the game really well, really fast. We were the dominant team and controlled large periods of the game.

“The difference between this game and recent weeks was scoring when were on top of the game in both halves.

“It was nice to get the clean sheet and score two goals which we haven’t done for a while.

“That win was coming, whether it was under me or Tim, because of the way we were playing.

“It’s a massive win for our confidence and morale. It’s a big confidence boost.”

Alvechurch are next in action against Needham Market on Saturday, November 29 with kick-off at 3pm at Bloomfields.
