ALVECHURCH have confirmed the arrival of experienced manager Mark Yates to assist interim boss Kyle Storer.

Yates has managed over 600 games in a managerial career spanning 15 years.

He will assist interim boss Storer who recently took charge at Lye Meadow following the resignation of Tim Flowers.

The 55-year-old last managed Solihull Moors in the 2020/21 season and previously took charge at Kidderminster Harriers and Cheltenham Town.

Yates led Harriers in over 200 games and took the club to the FA Trophy final at Wembley in 2007.

He departed Aggborough for Cheltenham and twice led the Robins to the League Two play-offs.

Yates narrowly missed out on promotion to League One in 2012 as Cheltenham suffered defeat in the play-off final at Wembley.

After a brief spell in charge of Crawley Town, Yates returned to the dugout with Moors in November 2017.

Yates took over with Solihull bottom of the table and guided Moors to safety with 12 wins from 29 matches.

Short stints at Macclesfield, Kidderminster, Stourbridge and Moors followed as he won 11 of 19 games in his second spell with the latter side.

Storer played under Yates during the duo’s time in at Solihull.
