SKITTLES - Top six teams swap places in Redditch Skittles League

THE top six teams in the Redditch Skittles League table all swapped places following the latest round of matches.

C and G Show jumped from sixth in the table to second with a maximum points victory against The Borough.

The victors won the first three legs to lead by eight pins and extending their advantage to 19 pins at the end of leg four.

C and G Show’s last leg score left the Borough needing 79 pins for victory which the latter side could not achieve while they also lost the final leg.

For C and G Show, Rich Fisher (35) and Keith Edwards and Paul Hollis (both 34) top scored while Steve Court (35) and Ian Foreman and Stephen Mears (both 33) impressed for the Borough.

Lodge Farmers jumped one place in the table with a narrow five-pin victory against bottom side Bernie’s Bolts.

Bernie’s Bolts took a four-pin lead after winning the first leg only for Farmers to lead by four pins after taking legs two and three.




The victors led by 11 pins at the end of leg four only for Bernie’s Bolts to produce the best leg score of the game in the final leg.

However, Farmers managed to score the 56 pins required to claim a narrow win.


For Lodge Farmers, Alex Lightfoot (34) and Glyn Morley, Jamie McGill and Frank Morris (all 33) top scored while Dean Lowe and Lewis McSweeney (both 35) and Paul Blayney (34) impressed for the Bolts.

Elsewhere, the top two teams in the division swapped places as Engineers came out on top against former leaders Nomads.

Engineers won each of the first three legs to take a commanding 25-pin lead to which Nomads had no answer.

Nomads won the final two legs but left Engineers needing 50 pins for victory which the latter side comfortably achieved.

For Engineers, Ian Greenway (38, 12 stack), Luke Saunders (38) and Graham Hingley (37) top scored while Wendy Coombes (40, 12 stack), Mac Eaton (38) and Eddie Upright (36) all impressed for Nomads.
