ENGINEERS pulled clear at the top of the Redditch Skittles League after both Nomads and Lodge Farmers failed to win.
The league leaders cruised to a maximum points victory against Jumbo Jet Set.
Engineers won legs two and three by a total of 21 pins to take the game out of Jumbo Jets reach.
For Engineers, Luke Saunders (38), Mark Ganderton (37) and Joe Kelso (36) top scored while Dennis Compton (39, 13 stack) and Liz Rowberry and Dan Hill (both 35) impressed for Jumbo Jets.
A high-scoring game between The Borough and Nomads saw the lead change hands twice.
The Borough led by 11 pins at the end of leg three only to trail by four pins after a strong fourth leg from Nomads.
Nomads left the Borough needing 74 pins for victory and a 14 stack from Michelle Court inspired the latter side to a four-pin victory.
Debutant Rob Bruce (43, 14 stack), Scott Few (37) and Julian Workman and Steve Court (both 36) top scored for the Borough.
And Mac Eaton (40, 15 stack), Geoff Loat (40, 11 stack) and Andrew Coombs (39, 14 stack) impressed for Nomads.
Elsewhere, Lodge Farmers also slipped to a three-pin defeat against C and G Show.
A rejuvenated C and G Show side built a 12-pin lead after the first three legs.
Farmers clawed a pin back in leg four and also made a strong last leg score of 68 pins.
However, C and G Show needed 58 pins for victory and duly scored the pins required.
For C and G Show, Neil Jay (35), Rich Fisher (34, 12 stack) and Dave Orton (34) top scored while Glyn Morley and Frank Morris (both 37) and Tim Jones (36) impressed for Lodge Farmers.
