FELIX Miles scored a brace as Alvechurch claimed a crucial 2-0 win away at Kettering Town in midweek to move clear of the relegation zone.
Miles struck twice after the break to end Church’s five-game winless run at Latimer Park.
The midfielder also found the net in the club’s agonising 2-1 defeat away at Banbury United last weekend at Spencer Stadium.
Victory at Kettering lifts Church to 16th in the Southern League Premier Central table, three points clear of the relegation zone.
Church broke the deadlock on 52 minutes when Miles poked home from point-blank range following a ball into the six-yard box from the right.
And Miles struck again in injury time to seal the points after a pass ran through to the midfielder in the box who cut in on his right foot and lashed a shot into the right corner of the goal.
Alvechurch are next in action against Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday, March 14 with kick-off at 3pm at Woodside Park.
