MIKE Fowler wants his Redditch United players to ‘leave it all out there’ with the club’s play-off hopes still in the balance following a dramatic draw at top-five rivals Kettering Town in midweek.

United thought they had won the game four minutes into injury time when Matty Warburton found the net at Latimer Park.

However, Kettering equalised three minutes later as Kai Williams scored a dramatic leveller for the home side at the death.

The result means Redditch sit seventh in the Southern League Premier Central table, one point outside of the play-off places with two games left to play.

However, Fowler felt his players did everything possible to come away with three points.

Fowler said: “It was important we came away knowing we’ve done everything we possibly can to win the game.

“A draw is better for them but every single one of the lads, I’m really proud of them.

“I’m disappointed to concede late on. That’s naivety, we seemed to score and think we’ve cracked it.

“I’m disappointed we didn’t get it over the line but I’m very happy with the team and they way they stood up and performed.

“It’s just about leaving it all out there. It’s exciting.”

The Reds rode their luck in the first half as returning goalkeeper Tyrese Warmington saved Eddie Panter’s tame penalty on the stroke of half time.

Redditch looked to have snatched the points in injury time when Warburton turned home Robbie Bunn’s low ball in from the left at the near post.

However, Kettering equalised seven minutes into injury time as Williams produced a clinical touch and finish in the box.

Redditch travel to Banbury United on Saturday, April 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Spencer Stadium.
