THE LAST weekend of the river fishing season saw two local matches take place.
The first on Saturday was Dark Lane AC’s match on the River Arrow at Alcester where Mick Keen took top place with 7lb 10oz, second was Barry Blewett with 6lb 1oz and third was Pete Lewis with 6lb.
The section winners were Max Claridge with 5lb 2oz and Tony Avery with 4lb.
On Sunday, further upstream at Coughton, the Throckmorton AC match saw 21 anglers take part and Paul Caswell won with 17lb 9oz.
Close behind was Bob Dean with 17lb 6oz, third was Phil Smith with 16lb 9oz, fourth was Glyn Blewett with 9lb 8oz and section winners were Colin Caswell (9lb 1oz) and Barry Blewett (9lb).
