REDDITCH artistic gymnast Grace Carter performed superbly to win a gold medal at the West Midlands In-Age Grade 5 Championships at Chase Leisure Centre in Cannock.
Grace, a year four pupil at Vaynor First School in Walkwood and a member of the successful City of Birmingham Gymnastics Club, was up against 65 other gymnasts from across the region.
These eight and nine-year-old gymnasts competed against each other and also against themselves to pass the grading.
Grace passed her grade with a distinction, putting in impressive performances on each of the five different apparatus to finish first on vault with a score of 13.10, first on bars with a massive score of 13.55, first on beam with 12.90, first on floor with 13.05 and first on range and conditioning with 13.00.
This resulted in Grace becoming all-round champion with an impressive score of 65.60.
