HUNT END teenager Grace Godwin helped the Wales U15 Girls’ team to glory in the 2017 Bob Docherty Trophy.

The four-day competition in Republic of Ireland featured the host nation, Wales, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and a local Shelbourne team.

Grace and her Welsh team-mates enjoyed group victories over Republic of Ireland and Scotland before seeing off Northern Ireland in the final.

The action does not stop there for Grace, who also plays for Aston Villa Girls U15s and the Worcestershire County Schools team.

The St Augustine’s Catholic High School pupil is hoping to feature for the Worcestershire side in Tuesday’s (7.30pm) game against Staffordshire at Redditch United in which the winners will lift the Midlands County Cup.

Before that, the 14-year-old and her Villa team-mates will complete their 2016/17 campaign against Arsenal.

Grace, who began playing football and winning trophies with Inkberrow Eagles before spending two seasons with West Bromwich Albion, will also have the chance to show off her skills on European soil this summer.

She will form part of the Worcestershire girls’ team which will compete in the prestigious Gothia Cup in Sweden in July.

The week-long Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international youth football tournament. Each year, around 1,600 teams from 80 nations take part and play 4,500 games on 110 fields.
