Lockhart leaves it late to claim trophy honours

Redditch Editorial 10th May, 2017   0

DAVE LOCKHART claimed victory when Redditch & District Air Rifle League shooters contested the final silverware of the season – the J Edgar Trophy – at the Entaco.

This charity event, organised by John Edgar, benefits Redditch Blind and the rules are simple. Competitors shoot as many shots as they can in one minute and the highest score wins.

Entrants paid £1 a go and could enter as many times as they wanted. Graham Whittingham started the evening off with 31 and this was equalled by Royston Pratt.

The duo then matched this score in further attempts but, with the evening drawing to a close, Pratt scored 33 from eight shots.

The last but one shooter was Steve Brandon who went into the lead with 37 from 11 shots, only for final shooter Lockhart to total a winning 43 from 12 shots.

Along with a raffle, the evening raised £108 for Redditch Blind.
