STUDLEY manager Keith Draper hailed the performance of new recruit Eddie Wynne-Wilson after the Bees enjoyed a 3-0 victory in Saturday’s friendly at Long Buckby.
Midfielder Wynne-Wilson has arrived from Heather St John’s and Draper described his weekend display as “brilliant”.
Another new recruit at the Beehive is fellow midfielder Craig Oldfield from Cadbury Athletic, whilst Draper is hopeful of wrapping up the prolonged deal for Bromsgrove Sporting striker Tom Craine.
Draper said: “Eddie is a box-to-box midfielder who immediately showed his quality for us. I am delighted to have signed him.
“I am looking to add real strength in depth to the ranks this season and there’s healthy competition at training at the moment as I look to cut a 28-man squad down to 22. I’ve got some tough decisions to make.”
Meanwhile, the Bees will face United Counties Football League Premier Division outfit Long Buckby again when they host the Northamptonshire side in the FA Vase first qualifying round on September 9.
The winners will entertain Hanley Town or Lichfield City in the second qualifying round on September 23.
