WHITE HART’S Saturday team clinched the Warks/Worcs Premier Division Six title with a comfortable 237-149 home win over Romsley & Hunnington.

The Redditch club had nine winners from the 12 ties including wins to single figures from Graham Arnott 21-3, Stuart Rice 21-4, Mike Estell 21-4, Mick Perrins 21-6 and Neil Laxton 21-9.

With just one game left Hart have an unassailable seven-point lead over second placed Wernley and will now be back in the fifth tier next season.

In the Sunday Northfield & District League, White Hart A are still in a promotion place following a 150-101 home win over Woodbourne Sports in Division Two. Their four winners were Norman Batchelor 21-3, Ken Brown 21-3, Paul Matthews 21-8 and captain Mick Perrins 21-5 and they are now three points ahead of third placed The Valley whose game in hand though could prove decisive.

The B team have a good chance of promotion from Division Four despite a 150-131 defeat by leaders Baldwin B. Hart had three winners – John Meredith 21-16, Neil Laxton 21-9 and Tom Hawkes 21-20 – and the three points gained puts them six ahead of Kings Norton Ex-Service with two matches left.

In the Heart of England Over 60s League, White Hart A took a heavy 124-71 beating at leaders Moseley CC A and only produced one winner – Norman Batchelor 21-19. They now look odds-on to be relegated from Division One as they are seven points from safety.

The B team, however, completed the double over Henley A with an impressive 125-84 victory in Division Two. Hart had five winners from the six ties – Mick Perrins 21-9, Kirk Wright 21-10, Sheila Humphreys 21-12, Gill Croft 21-15 and Anne Batchelor 21-17.

In the SW Birmingham Over 60s League, White Hart B look certain to be relegated from Division Three after a home defeat by Rubery Sheldon JC. The Redditch team had just two winners – Kirk Wright 21-10 and Sue Sugden 21-19.

The return leg at Rubery next week will be the final match of a difficult season following their promotion last year.

White Hart will now be the venue for the Heart of England Thursday Cup final between Moseley CC A and RABL A on September 21, having been switched from the Kings Norton green.
