INKBERROW Eagles Girls celebrated their third season as a Gold Sister Club to WSL1 team Birmingham City Ladies by being mascots and flag-bearers for the Blues’ Continental Tyres Cup clash against Doncaster Rovers Belles at St Andrew’s on Sunday.
The Eagles cheered the home side on to a 3-2 victory and after the game were presented with a signed shirt by club captain Kerys Harrop.
The sister club link-up enables the Inkberrow girls to see the women play at the top of their game and also receive training from the players. Vice-captain Emily Westwood spent a spooky Halloween training session putting the girls through their paces before choosing the winners for the most ghoulish player.
The girls were also lucky enough to take part in the Wembley pitch parade prior to the Blues’ FA Women’s Cup final against Manchester City in May.
The Eagles teams at U12s, 14s and 16s are all hoping for gold themselves this weekend as they all involved in cup games in their respective age groups.
Inkberrow are an FA Charter Standard club and have a large junior section who train and play with an emphasis of ensuring the children have fun in a safe and friendly environment. The girls section are now looking to extend their age groups and more details are available from manager Mark Wilkinson on 07795 259723.
