JACK WILLIAMS bludgeoned a superb 145 but Studley had to settle for a winning draw against Weoley Hill in Division One of the Warwickshire League.
Williams smashed 17 fours and two sixes in his 128-ball innings as Studley, having won the toss, finished on a brilliant 287-3.
However, the visitors managed to hold on at 247-6 in their 50 overs to leave Studley with ten points, rather than a winning tally.
Wicketkeeper Williams shared a 67-run stand with Leon Marks (29) for the second wicket but then eased into overdrive with Sam Fonyodi to compile an undefeated fourth-wicket partnership of 187. Fonyodi was 61 not out off 83 balls at the close.
Weoley Hill opener Khalid Mahmood led the resistance with 54, aided principally by 30 from Gerard Morley and other useful middle-order contributions.
Although the visitors were 196-6 at one stage, they again managed to withstand and frustrate Studley’s challenge despite Greg Moore (2-26) and Muhammad Safyan (2-54) impressing.
Studley, who lie third from bottom in the table, travel to Coventry to face Highway Spartans on Saturday.
