Boost for Trystan as full BSB calendar is planned

REDDITCH racer Trystan Finocchiaro is raring to go in the 2020 British Superstock 600 campaign after plans were revealed to run a full British Superbike Championship (BSB) calendar.

Finocchiaro will race for the Transmec Racing team, with confirmation expected within the next week or so that BSB bosses will aim to start the season in July and end it in late October.

The first two meetings are likely to be behind closed doors with a very restricted and selected number of spectators allowed.

As the Standard went to press, Finocchiaro, 21, was due to test his new Kawasaki ZX636R at Donington Park having previously only once been on the bike.

Further testing is scheduled at Snetterton on June 2 and Cadwell Park on June 9.

Finocchiaro said: “My leathers are duo to arrive and the bike has been ready for a while now. Mark (Draper) has done an incredible job preparing it and it looks a million dollars.

“I’m extremely excited to go back on track. I have been training very hard on the race bicycle and brand new mountain bike, but it is not the same thing as riding a motorbike on a race track!

“We can’t wait to see you all again. We have missed you very much and the idea of getting back to some sort of normality gives us hope and strength.”

Finocchiaro finished third in the 2019 British Junior Supersport Championship with the Transmec KTM junior team.
