REDDITCH based Taekwondo club GTUK came away with 10 medals at a regional competition in Coventry recently.

A team of nine young martial artists competed at the event in Ryton On Dunsmore – with youngest member Cayden, aged five, winning two gold medals at the start of the day.

Further medals were claimed by: Victor, aged 12, who won gold and silver, Calvin and Andrei, both aged 12, who each won silver, Josh, aged 16, who won silver and bronze and international instructor Amy Ridgard won double silver.

In total, GTUK won three gold’s, six silver’s and one bronze which was a superb effort by the team – most of whom were competing in an event for the first time inĀ patterns and/or sparring in their respective categories.

Instructor Ridgard was full of praise following her students success in Coventry.

Ridgard said: “I am very proud of all the hard work the students put in. They certainly turned a few heads at the competition with their talent.”
